Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ArdORA ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use our website at ardoralabs.com, your ArdORA account, and the ArdORA desktop application (together, the "Services"). ArdORA is available from our website and from the Microsoft Store; this policy applies to both. By using the Services, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. When you buy a license or create an account, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number and billing address. When you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your card details.

Information collected automatically. When you use the website or the app, we collect technical and usage information, such as pages visited, referring website, browser and device type, operating system, app version, license status, time zone and approximate location derived from your IP address. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

App-open statistics. Each time the ArdORA desktop app starts, it sends a small message to our server (ardoralabs.com) containing: a random install identifier created once on your device and not derived from your hardware, the app version, your operating system, your time zone, your license tier (Free, Indie or Studio) and, if you have activated a license, your license ID. If you have a license, we link these statistics to your account, so we can support licensing and understand how licensed users use ArdORA. Our server also sees your IP address, from which we derive your approximate location (city level); we do not store the IP address itself, only an irreversible, salted hash of it. We use this only to count how many people use ArdORA, which versions and platforms are in use, and to support licensing. It never includes your projects, terrains or files. If the message cannot be sent (for example, you are offline), the app keeps working normally.

Update checks. Depending on how you installed ArdORA, the app may also check for a new version by fetching a small file from our server (ardoralabs.com). This request contains only the app version, and our server sees your IP address as it does for any request. Versions installed from the Microsoft Store are updated by the Store instead.

License information. To activate and verify your license, the app communicates with our license provider and uses an identifier of your device, derived from your computer's hardware identifiers, so that a license can be tied to the computer it is activated on.

Your projects, terrains and files stay on your computer and are not collected.

2. How we use information

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Services, such as our payment processor (Stripe), license provider (Keygen), email provider (Resend) and hosting provider, and only as needed for them to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law. Some providers may process information outside your country.

4. Cookies

We use only what is necessary for the website to work, such as keeping you signed in to your account. We do not use advertising cookies.

5. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax and accounting requirements. Usage data is kept for up to 25 months.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us at support@ardoralabs.com. You can also ask us to delete the information we hold about you, including your app-open statistics.

7. Security

Information sent between the app or website and our servers travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we store it on our servers with access limited to what is needed to run the Services. We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
